What does “Being in the Moment” mean to you?
Being in the moment can be tricky for me. With three kids, it can feel challenging to be in the moment without being aware of what your kids are doing, are they ok? When I feel like I’m really in the moment is when I’m with my kids, all three of them, either in the kitchen having a dance party or in the ocean, playing in the waves. When we are in the ocean together, we are in the moment.
What does Feeling Good look or feel like to you in your day to day life?
Feeling good is very important to me. I have never been diagnosed with anything, but I definitely have sensory issues with shoes and clothing. It’s important to me that my feet and my body feel good. I usually wear vintage clothing. Because it’s been worn in by somebody else, it’s so soft. I wear a lot of vintage jeans and vintage t-shirts, and in the summer, flowing dresses. Most of the time I’d rather be barefoot. I’m on my feet and moving my body a lot so it’s really important to feel good.
What makes you feel like your most aligned self?
I feel the most aligned when I’m creating. If I’m creating work that’s just for me and not for an order, that’s when I can be creative and try something totally different. Failing a couple times but pushing through is the best feeling.
How does Creativity play a role in your life?
I usually dream of my art projects. I’ve been like that since I was in high school and that has remained through art school and into my professional life. I’ll dream about a new shape or I’ll dream that I’m walking through a gallery and seeing all this pottery and I’ll like something I’ve seen and I’ll try to re-create it in real life.
